Afro DZ ak - "Lyrics to Grow"

Gnawledge Records… Big Willie Green on the beat
Just droppin some Gnawledge for y’all
… and you… and you.. and you… and you

I write in a Sentimental Mood like Coltrane
My rhymes are the most essential food
like whole grain
Providin me with fuel to elevate like propane
(Check it) I got Lyrics to Grow, call me Rogaine
They say no pain, no gain,
But that don’t explain how I ease ya pains
and make gains as I maintain
The same frame of mind but I’m tryin to expand
Cuz the way that I rhyme is like flyin over land
And- seein the bigger picture, studyin the landscape
The beauty makes me wanna give
mother nature a handshake
Cuz man makes art- interpretations of life
And life’s the inspiration that provokes me to write
I’m hopin to light the pathway for young lost souls
To find their own voice, develop their own goals
One day shine their own light for others to know
In other words yo, I got lyrics to grow

Chorus (Lori Kirk)
Lyrics to Grow, Lyrics to Grow, I got Lyrics to Grow, Lyrics to Grow…

(Verse 2)
I grab my pen right away and write away in handwriting that’s sloppy
But I got the right of way so nobody can stop me
It’s hot see- every time I start to scribble
On a new level I’m travelin but never double dribble
It’s simple, cuz all I need’s a writing utensil
A piece of paper,
and preferably a dope-ass instrumental
To build a fire, providin heat and light,
It’s like the sheet ignites, when I proceed to write
Every spark of energy is sendin me
into an endless sea
Where Gnawledge is a friend of me
and ignorance the enemy
I study life endlessly,
just like organic chemistry
Instead of me usin weaponry,
I look for a remedy
On tracks that’s soundin heavenly
I’m elevatin mentally
Intend to reach everyone whether seventeen
or seventy
I’m not a killer like most cats pretend to be,
instead I be
Askin myself what I could do for others
like Kennedy
And my rhymes are my venue to send you
Hope to get past all the troubles you’ve been through
Cuz my writing’s an escape- it frees my mind,
I hope you’ll find it does the same for you if you rewind enough times
In rough and tough times I persevere
Fight for the cause like Santa Claus
in that song by Atmosphere
And hold dear- my thoughts, my pen, my notebook
So stop and think
as we sink into this dope hook
